Shopping Online at Carswell.com

Fast, simple and secure

  • Ordering products from Carswell.com is simple. Find the product you want to buy, add it to your shopping cart, then specify your ordering details, such as quantities and billing and shipping information, in a secure ordering environment.
     
  • If you have a MyAccount login, use it to log in for personalized order details.
     
  • If you do not have a MyAccount login, you will be prompted to enter your customer billing and shipping information. A Carswell Customer Relations representative will contact you shortly after your order is placed to tell you more about the advantages of using MyAccount to manage your customer information and track your orders.
     
  • If an item you request is not available for purchase online, or if you prefer to use a different method of ordering, you can call us or send a fax or email message with your order request. Please see How to Order below for more details.

  • Satisfaction with your Carswell product is guaranteed. If you are not completely satisfied with any Carswell electronic or print product, simply return the invoice, along with any material received (in resalable condition), within 30 days of the invoice date.

Shopping Cart Definitions

Below is a guide to the shopping cart headings and terms you will see when you order online:

Del - Delete this item from your shopping cart

  • To remove an item from your shopping cart, click the checkbox beside the item and click the "Update Shopping Cart" button.

Product No.

  • This is the unique number (ISBN) associated with the item added to your shopping cart.

Title - Publication title

  • This is the title of the item you added to your shopping cart as it is stored in our product database.

    Items with multiple supplements will list each supplement on a separate line, but cannot be ordered on its own.

Promo - Promotion number

  • If you received a promotion piece from Carswell by mail, email or a web site, you can enter it in this box and click "Update Shopping Cart" to register the promotion number.

    To find the promotion number on a promotion piece received by postal mail, look for the "Order Number" – Example: 92854X-03095 - the Promotion number is the last five digits (in this case, 03095).

    Carswell reserves the right to make price adjustments or expire promotions and special offers without advanced notice. However, as adjustments to prices occur, we make every effort to communicate the adjustments in advance of taking effect.

Req Qty - Requested Quantity

  • The quantity you have selected when shopping appears in this box.

Ship Qty - Quantity To Be Shipped

  • Of the quantity you have selected, the number in this column represents the available quantity in stock that can be shipped. The available quantity featured on this screen is based on the latest survey of inventory levels. Inventory is not reserved at checkout. The actual quantity you will receive is featured on the final order page.

B/O Qty - Back Order Quantity

  • The quantity currently known to be on back order appears in this box. The actual back order quantity will be reflected when you finalize your order.

  • The price of one unit of the product.

Disc - Discount(s)

  • Any discounts you are entitled to are reflected in this box, displayed in percentage format. For more information about discounts, please contact Customer Relations at 416-609-3800 (Toronto/International) / 1-800-387-5164 (Canada/U.S.).

Price

  • In this box appears the extended price you will pay for all quantities of the item, factoring in:

    • the discount(s) for which you are entitled
    • the discount(s) attributed to the promotion number entered
    • the discount(s) attributed to online offer number entered

    This number is exclusive of any taxes and shipping & handling, which will be calculated in the order confirmation phase of the shopping cart.

    Note: Each order is eligible for the best discount only — discounts cannot be combined.

    Example: if your account is eligible for an overall discount of 20%, and the promotion number entered represents 10%, your order will be subject to a 20% discount, as it offers the best price of the two discounts.

Carswell offers products in a variety of formats:

Annual subscription service

  • Published in hardcover, compression or ring binders. They include base contents and periodic updates (releases). Some services are available on disk. Subscribers are invoiced for a year's service in advance.

  • A predetermined number of issues published at regular intervals. Subscribers are invoiced for a year's subscription in advance. Ring binders for storage are provided.

Journal

  • A series of paper bound issues (parts) published at regular intervals, and consolidated periodically into a bound volume. Subscribers are invoiced for each volume upon publication of its first part. Back volumes are available in bound format for separate purchase.

Law Report

  • A series of paper bound issues (parts) published at regular intervals, and consolidated periodically into a bound volume. Subscribers are invoiced for each volume upon publication of its first issue. Annual bound indexes are supplied and invoiced separately. Back volumes and series are available in bound format for separate purchase.

Supplemented book/Looseleaf Services

  • Published in compression or ring binders. Purchasers are invoiced at the time of shipment. Standing Order/Subscription Terms are applied to supplements, which are supplied to subscribers periodically and invoiced separately. Supplementation history is available upon written request.

Book

  • Published in hardcover or softcover formats. Purchasers are invoiced at the time of shipment. Books may have pockets for updates, which are invoiced as published. Standing Order/Subscription Terms are applied to books for which new editions are required annually or which are published serially. Back volumes and sets of serially published books are available for separate purchase.

Book S.O. annual/biennial - Book on standing order annually/biennially

  • Unless otherwise instructed at the time of the order, we place purchasers of bound books on standing order to automatically receive replacement annual or biennial editions and supplemental material. The standing order option is automatically selected in the shopping cart. If the standing order box is unselected, customers will be placed on advise status for notification when new editions are published. This policy is limited to single copy purchases and does not apply to bulk copy orders.
  • If standing order is selected, and a new annual or biennial edition is published within 60 days of purchasing the prior edition, the new edition is supplied at no charge.

  • Carswell offers Internet-based services that allow you to access information 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from anywhere in the world. To use our Internet-based services, such as WestlaweCARSWELL and taxnet.pro, you will require an active connection to the Internet/world wide web.

CD-ROM annual subscription

  • CD-ROM is a compact disc-based information storage medium that can be read by your personal computer using a CD-ROM reader. Information is stored on the disc and is accessed using FolioVIEWS® search software provided on all Carswell CD-ROM products, which allows you to navigate between related pieces of information and directly to relevant documents. CD-ROM research solutions are available on an annual subscription basis.

    Carswell's CD-ROMs utilize the latest version of Folio, which offers many benefits including:
    • faster phrase searching
    • improved printing functions
    • enhanced table of contents
    Our CD-ROMs now feature a Print Document button for simple and quick printing of the information you need.
